Punta Gorda Isles Real Estate
Punta Gorda Isles is a deed-restricted, waterfront and golf community located just outside of downtown Punta Gorda southwest of Fishermens Village and west of Charlotte Park. With the exception of a few homes sprinkled around St. Andrews Golf Course, all homes are located on the canals. With its direct access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico, Punta Gorda Isles is a boater’s dream. The city maintains the seawalls and canals, providing a consistent level of upkeep and appearance.
The first development in Punta Gorda Isles began in the late 1950s with building continuing throughout the early 1980s. Today there are a variety of properties available ranging from condos, new construction, and waterfront estates to more modest bungalows and beach cottages.
At the core of the community is the St. Andrews South Golf Club, a private championship golf course limited to less than 300 members. Designed by noted architect Ron Garl, the par 71 course spans 6,103 yards. The course is distinguished by lakes and sand bunkers that provide picturesque and challenging play for golfers at all levels.
