Burnt Store Marina Real Estate

Burnt Store Marina is considered one of Southwest Florida’s premier boating communities, located on the border of Punta Gorda and Cape Coral on Burnt Store Road near Charlotte Harbor.  Legend has it this master-planned community draws its name from the burning of an iconic trading post in the 1850s after a skirmish between the Seminoles and the settlers.  Fact or fanciful story, the colorful name helps distinguish this 626-acre gated community which is known for its marina and array of amenities offering something for everyone.

Established in the 1970s with newly constructed homes built up until the present, Burnt Store Marina offers a variety of architectural styles and options including single-family homes, sprawling estates, condos, and villas.  Prospective buyers can choose from condos located directly on the golf course, homes fronting canals or properties situated along the exterior wall.  Scattered lot communities in established areas are a new construction option where a builder can work with a buyer to build a home in a select community with landscaping, mature trees and neighbors already in place.  Read more about Burnt Store Marina.

More About Burnt Store Marina

Burnt Store Marina Boating

Much of the community’s appeal lies in its location on Charlotte Harbor, the second largest estuary in Florida, just ten miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The marina is the largest in southwest Florida and one of the largest in the state, able to accommodate boats up to 100 feet.  Additional conveniences include deepwater wet slips, dry boat storage and free Wi-Fi.  Boaters can also enjoy a heated pool with hot tub, laundry, transportation to the golf course and several onsite dining options with stunning views of the marina.  Boating enthusiasts point to the calm waters of Charlotte Harbor as ideal for sailing as well as a scenic backdrop for any excursion.

Burnt Store Marina Fishing

Just minutes from open water, the community is widely recognized for having some of the best fishing around.  Cape Coral is surrounded by the Caloosahatchee River on one side and Matlacha Pass on the other.  The estuary waters are protected by a mangrove preserve bordering the Cape, which creates a perfect habitat for all sorts of fish ranging from snook, grouper, tarpon, redfish, cobia, trout, and more.  Sailing or boating to the nearby barrier islands of Boca Grande, Useppa, Pine Island, Captiva, and Sanibel provide additional freshwater and saltwater fishing options.

Burnt Store Marina Golfing

Designed by Ron Garl and Mark McCumber, the course offers 27 challenging holes as well as onsite dining at the Linkside Cafe Restaurant. The semi-private club builds on the native wooded landscape to provide challenges for golfers at all levels and features an onsite instructor and well-equipped pro shop.

Burnt Store Marina Social Life

Beyond the water activities, residents of Burnt Store Marina can also take advantage of an onsite tennis and fitness center, multiple dining options and a trading post with groceries, gifts and other sundries. Residents can enjoy a steak and native seafood at the nautical-themed Cass Cay Restaurant & Bar while overlooking the marina or more casual fare at the Linkside Cafe.

Walking paths provide additional opportunities to engage with the other residents while taking in views of the canal and surrounding nature preserves.  The community maintains an active social calendar with events ranging from fishing tournaments and farmers markets to themed dinners, trivia nights and shopping expeditions. Residents and visitors also enjoy easy access to art galleries, waterfront dining, live music as well as other attractions that build on southwest Florida’s raw natural beauty.
