What’s With All the Corkscrew Communities in Estero?

It seems everywhere you go in Estero you hear about something else with Corkscrew in its name. So, what’s with all the Corkscrew communities in Estero? The name extends to the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, and that name originates from a windy river, which once flowed into the Gulf. These days, the name lives on with some of Estero’s most popular neighborhoods.
