[caption id="attachment_2625" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Pool at Mastique in Fort Myers "][/caption] For many visitors to the Fort Myers area, Summerlin Road is among the first road traveled as it offers the most direct route from RSW to the popular tourist destinations of Sanibel, Captiva and Fort Myers Beach. From my point of view this is truly beneficial for the area as Summerlin Road is lined with both protected natural beauty as well as a number of highly-regarded residential developments. Summerlin Road is primary north-south corridor in Fort Myers running from Colonial Boulevard in the north to McGregor Boulevard in the south. A February 2009 Lee County DOT traffic study estimated that on average 31,200 vehicles a day were using Summerlin Road near the intersection of Winkler Road. Notable landmarks on Summerlin Road include Edison College, the Barbara Mann Performing Arts Center, HealthPark Medical Center and the Tanger Outlets. Summerlin Road is also home to a number of hotels, restaurants and medical practices. Real estate options along the Summerlin Corridor are numerous with a wide range of communities and life-style options. For golfers, the Lexington Country Club, Kelly Greens and Seven Lakes are popular, second home owners are drawn to the resort-style communities of Sanibel View and Mastique, families are attracted to the communities of Whiskey Creek and Reflection Lakes. Here is a resource for viewing all the communities and available listings in the Summerlin Road Corridor.
