Shenandoah Offers Grand Estate Homes Near the Beach
For grand estate homes that also happen to be close to the beach, there’s nothing that quite compares to Shenandoah. This gated, equestrian neighborhood in South Fort Myers offers large lots and large homes, with an Old Florida vibe situated in a country setting, but never too far from the sand and water, either.
With just 21 homes in the entire community to choose from, the private residences of Shenandoah are built up surrounding a five-acre lake, with many of the homesites surpassing one-acre in size. The southern Lee County community also includes horse stables and a one-mile riding trail, as well as a tennis court for outdoor fun and recreation.
When you want to enjoy the sand and water you can do that too, as Gulf beaches are just a few minutes away from Shenandoah. In addition, the homes are close to shops and retail stores, as well as area restaurants, and only about 20 minutes by car from Downtown Fort Myers.
As for some of the grand estate homes of Shenandoah, it’s not unusual to find large homes in the community with more than 4,000 square feet of living space, including sometimes five-bedrooms and upwards of five-baths. There are other homes in the community with nearly 6,000 square feet of living space in Shenandoah, including six-bedrooms and plenty of upgrades throughout.
Some of the homes come with a four-car garage, as well as a full outdoor kitchen for extended living and entertaining space, and sometimes a private swimming pool, too. On the inside, you may find new appliances in the custom designed kitchens, wide plank hardwoods, and high ceilings, among other upgrades.
Developed starting in the early 2000s, the community of Shenandoah sits just off Cook Road. The location is just to the north of McGregor Boulevard in the Iona section of Fort Myers.
