Riverside Avenue Villas Hint at Mid-Century Influences

Built up in a prestigious spot just off historic McGregor Boulevard, the Riverside Avenue Villas manage to take a page out of architectural history, themselves. The new construction villas hint at Mid-Century influences, which seems to fit in perfectly with their surroundings.

Some of the first homes in this part of Fort Myers went up in the 1920s, while other homes were completed in the 1940s and 1950s. Some of the original Mid-Century homes still exist and include some of the trademark style points of that time period.

The new villas further add to that, but this time with the bonus of new construction possibilities. The villas were developed by Emerald Homes, a luxury division of DR Horton, just within the past two years.

The Riverside Avenue Villas start at around 1,500 square feet of living space. It’s common to find two-bedroom floorplans, but because the neighborhood is already complete, prospective buyers are limited to finding resale homes on the market.

You may find homes in the community that include a spacious great room that leads out to a paved lanai. Some of the original owners opted to build a screened-in swimming pool for additional outdoor fun and entertainment needs.

It’s common to find homes in the community with a center-island kitchen, as well as a large owner’s suite with an en-suite bath and walk-in closet. You may also find a den, as well as a two-car garage.

You’ll find the new, gated community of Riverside Avenue Villas to the south of Cypress Lake Drive, and to east of McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers. The location means living near the shops, restaurants, and nightlife of the Downtown Fort Myers River District. The villas are also close to area beaches, and right down the street from a marina and boat club.
