Our Favorite Fort Myers Waterfront Neighborhoods
A lot of people choose to live in Southwest Florida for the waterfront views, and some of the best locations exist in Fort Myers. Here are some of our favorite waterfront neighborhoods:
Catalpa Cove
Catalpa Cove is a gated, boating community located along the Caloosahatchee River in South Fort Myers. The neighborhood offers direct Gulf boating access via deep-water canals, as well as private docks. Buyers can choose from around 80 single-family homes in the community, with such additional added amenities as tennis courts and pickleball courts, a picnic area, and a playground.
Jonathan Harbour
Luxury homes and townhomes are what you’ll find in the gated community of Jonathan Harbour. Homes in this neighborhood sit on Connie Mack Island, making it a prime location for direct boating access to the Gulf. They overlook either area lakes or Punta Rossa Cove, and many of them come with private boat docks. Along with a prime location, you’ll find a private marina in Jonathan Harbour, as well as pickleball and tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a clubhouse with an exercise room.
Waters Edge
Situated right along the Caloosahatchee River, Waters Edge is made up of seven unique neighborhoods with waterfront amenities and views. While right alongside the river, many of the homes additionally offer lakefront views and private lake piers. The neighborhood boasts such amenities as a river fishing pier, a riverside park, a private beach, a marina, and tennis courts. Buyers can choose from mid-rise condos, attached villas, or single-family homes.
McGregor Isles
Many of the homes of McGregor Isles feature private piers, plus boaters can access the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf via area canals. Most homes date back to the 1960s and 1970s, although its sometimes possible to find new construction in the neighborhood. Optional HOA fees take care of lawncare and neighborhood projects.
