A new wellness center just opened at Gulf Harbour, bringing everything from fitness equipment to a café and physical therapy to residents of the popular Fort Myers community. The HarbourView Center for Sports & Wellness is the latest addition to the Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club, but far from its only attraction. The new wellness center joins a community already well known for its tennis, golf and boating. Along with a championship 18-hole course the property also includes eight clay tennis courts, some of which overlook the Caloosahatchee River and area lakes. Both golf and sports memberships are available. It’s the new center, though, that is getting much of the recent attention. The design includes state-of-the art fitness equipment and fitness studios plus dual Infrared saunas, room for Pilates and group classes, a spa and a Wellness Café. As well, it also offers physical therapy services, with management of those services overseen by Lee Health. In addition, the center includes several new staff members experienced in nutrition, fitness and wellness. The new structure replaces a smaller facility that once stood on the property with a massive new two-story design, earmarked for the enjoyment of members in maintaining an active lifestyle. While the most recent addition to Gulf Harbour, it certainly continues with a theme that’s been in operation for years, as the site was once certified as one of America’s Healthiest Clubs. Gulf Harbour members gave the new project the go-ahead a couple of years ago and construction of the new wellness center tipped off last year. Along with all of its other amenities, the waterfront community also contains a deep-water marina and more than two-dozen different neighborhoods. With more than 1,600 residences in total, Gulf Harbour includes everything from condos and townhouses to single-family homes in a variety of price points.
