New Resident Club of Cape Coral

If you want to meet new friends and experience all that Cape Coral has to offer, the New Resident Club of Cape Coral fits the bill. This longstanding social club has welcomed new residents to the region for decades, now more than 800 members strong. The club sponsors activities ranging from special events to regularly scheduled get-togethers, with everything from a monthly general meeting to game night, a monthly dinner dance at the Cape Coral Yacht Club to a meeting spot at one of the area’s local bars and restaurants each month. In addition, an activities coordinator schedules special events such as baseball games and boat tours. Some events require reservations and a fee, plus members also pay dues to be part of the club. Newcomers and current members can find out about upcoming meetings and activities through the club newsletter. Those newsletters are published online, plus the group’s website also offers information and specifics about upcoming events, too. There are also themed luncheons for the ladies and monthly breakfasts for the men. Basically, it gives newcomers the opportunity to meet new people and socialize while learning more about their new neighborhood. The club helps to teach new residents about all the ins and outs of living in Cape Coral, from preparing for bad weather to learning more about area wildlife. Volunteers first founded the non-profit club in the late 1960s and it’s still running at full speed today. Nominations usually begin in the early fall to fill the club’s board positions. Even if you just wish to be a member, though, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout the year. All you have to do is sign up to go to the next bridge game, play golf with fellow members, hit the dance floor or enjoy the next round of Cocktails on the Cape.
