Lennar Building at Babcock Ranch

lennar babcock ranch One of the country’s largest homebuilders has just added its name to one of the region’s most appealing new communities. Babcock Ranch, the self-proclaimed first solar-powered town in the nation, will soon offer homes from Lennar in a neighborhood just to the southeast of Founders Square, close to a future school and community park. Plans call for 180 homes in this part of Babcock Ranch, with Lennar supplying a blend of twin-villas and single-family homes. While the twin-villas are set for prices starting in the high $100,000s, the single-family home offerings will start priced in the low $200,000s. The latest phase of Babcock Ranch to be announced, the maintenance free offerings from Lennar will include 1,400 to 1,500 square feet of open living space, with two- to three-bedrooms, a two-car garage and the privacy of a covered lanai. The new villas will also offer such features as granite countertops, tile flooring, name-brand stainless steel appliances and wood cabinetry. The environmentally friendly community includes its own on-site, solar power plant, with homes that are built with green-building standards in check. The area is also made up of plenty of green space, including preserves, trails and lakes. About 20 minutes to the east of Downtown Fort Myers, Babcock Ranch is set to feature various designs in homes, many with lakefront views and comforting front porches, adapting to the small-town feel of the community. Meanwhile, the downtown area is being designed to invite residents to gather with fellow neighbors, with a planned wellness center, retail shops, restaurants and more. Lennar joins other homebuilders, including Stock Development, Homes by Towne and Fox Premier Builders, in coming to the new and growing community of Babcock Ranch. Covering both Lee and Charlotte counties, the community is set to someday be home to around 50,000 residents, with more than 19,000 homes and millions of square footage of commercial space.
