Here’s Why Babcock Ranch Just Surpassed 1000 Sales

The celebrated new community of Babcock Ranch just hit another major milestone. The nation’s very first solar-powered town recently surpassed 1,000 home sales.
Of those, more than 500 were year-to-date contracts. Marketing for the new community first began in 2017, and the first residents moved into their homes in early 2018.
These days, buyers have their choice of seven different neighborhoods, with home designs from nine different homebuilders. In all there are dozens of different floor plans available, with homes generally ranging from around 1,100 to more than 4,000 square feet of living space.
A number of model and quick-delivery homes are either already open or currently under construction. Eventually, Babcock Ranch calls for the inclusion of more than 19,000 residences and millions of square feet of commercial space.
Along with the enviable home designs, Babcock Ranch also holds the distinction of being one of the most inventive new home communities in the entire State of Florida. Designed as a sustainable, master-planned town, about half of the town is dedicated to lakes, parks and greenways.
Babcock Ranch is also home to the Founder’s Square downtown district and a charter school. In addition, the vision for Babcock Ranch includes a range of sustainable features such as self-driving electric shuttles, a large solar storage system, wellness facilities, hiking trails and plenty of green space.
Developers in Babcock Ranch have to meet green, energy-efficient building standards for homes and businesses. You will also find things like solar trees used as charging stations, the opportunity to kayak or canoe out on Lake Babcock, fishing, community gardens and an 18-hole golf course at the center of Babcock National.
Construction also continues on the new Crescent B Commons. The shopping center broke ground earlier this year at the new entrance to Babcock Ranch on Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31.
