Housing statistics from the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach.[/caption]
The housing news from Fort Myers is faster than a speeding bullet……stronger than TNT……huger than Billy Fuccillo……..the median prices of homes sold in Lee Country in April 2013 were up 29.8% over median sales prices in April of 2012. Lee County median home prices in April 2013 were $182,000 up from $140,199 just one year ago in April 2012.
Other notable improvements to the Fort Myers housing market over the past year include an 11.7% increase in pending home sales and a 26% increase in pending condos sales. There was an 11.7% increase in closed condo sales in the past year, rising from from 685 transactions in April 2012 to 765 transaction in April of 2013.
There is a sense of optimism in the Fort Myers right now, a feeling that hasn't been felt in these parts since mid-2006. Although we have had some price increases this year, median priced single-family homes of $182,000 are still very affordable relative to the neighboring markets of Naples and Sarasota.
