Downtown Fort Myers is Alive

Now one of the most exciting destinations in Fort Myers, the downtown area is alive with a renewed and reimagined energy and vibrancy, popular with locals and tourists, alike. Lured by a setting alongside the Caloosahatchee River, the River District has recently emerged as one of the most enticing destinations in the entire city, a place that developers continue to eye for the future. The River District is the place to go to experience an array of options in dining, a walk-able destination that easily blends hip new shops and businesses with the history of the region, such as in the case of Ford’s Garage, a beer and burger joint that plays homage to former local Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company. There’s also Timeless, a specialty store where fixtures are mostly lit with antique, Thomas Edison filament bulbs. You’ll also find sculptures and artwork here, along with a repurposed post office, now home to an arts center. In addition, the district is commonly host to music and art walks, a weekly farmers market, plus more edgy venues, such as rooftop sky bars and luxury high-rises, such as the offerings of Allure. From martini bars to breweries, cafes to bistros, Downtown Fort Myers is rich with new opportunities, with an array of choices when it comes to dining, shopping and entertainment. The energy of downtown is proving attractive to a large mix of residents too, from Millennials to retirees, the area is alive with possibility.
