Copperleaf Golf Club Renovation Nearing Completion

The $20 million renovation of the clubhouse at Copperleaf Golf Club is almost complete. The more than 20-year-old clubhouse is being reimagined into what’s described as a dining and entertainment venue.

As part of the renovation project, the poolside deck and dining space has been expanded. The Main Dining Room at Copperleaf has been reconfigured with vaulted ceilings and what it calls more functional kitchens.

With the new layout, the club is more hurricane resistant, and its interior space will soon be better adjusted to accommodate various events and gatherings. Opening this month is the new poolside café, which is expected to be a real favorite.

The café includes a bar with TVs overlooking area lakes and the golf course. The pro shop at Copperleaf has also been expanded and meeting spaces within the clubhouse have reportedly doubled.

The idea for the project first came about a few years ago, but ground wasn’t broken until this past summer. It’s expected everything should be fully complete by later this summer.

The master-planned development of Copperleaf Golf Club is home to an 18-hole, originally Gordon Lewis-designed golf course. The golf course was redesigned itself within the past decade and is now a certified, Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

The development, meanwhile, is a Blue Zones Recognized community. Along with golf, other club amenities include a heated swimming pool and spa, tennis and bocce ball courts, a fitness center, and a more than 1.5-mile walking and biking loop.

The member-owned club sometimes hosts private events, such as weddings. In all, there are upwards of 500 private residences inside Copperleaf. Around 400 of them are single-family homes, while another 150 or so are carriage homes.

Many of the homes have the advantage of overlooking lake or golf course views. This bundled golf course community sits close to area malls, restaurants, and more in Estero.
