Builder Magazine’s 2012 America’s Best Builders, Neal Communities, has started building Coastal Key, a 48-acre gated-community in Fort Myers next to the Estero Aquatic Preserve. The Island-theme design of the new community will provide a laid back living vibe and tropical vacation feel for its residents. Coastal Key will have 76 single-family homes with 1-2 story plans, and 8 new models to choose from. The homes will feature 3-4 BR/2-3 BA/2-3 car garages/1,772-2,914 SF, with home prices beginning in the high $200,000s. A vacation destination must come with a chock full of amenities, and Coastal Key delivers. The gated-community is maintenance-free, and most homes will have pristine lake or preserve views. There is a 9-acre lake and 30 acres of protected wetland preserve and green areas. Since it’s adjacent to the Estero Aquatic Preserve, Coastal Key will have maximum privacy in this setting with absolutely no new developments surrounding this community. Other amenities for Coastal Key residents include a dog park as well as proximity to area beaches. It is less than 10 miles to the beach. There are many nearby arts and attractions, including a performing arts hall, the Boston Red Sox Spring Training Center, fantastic shopping and dining at Edison Mall, Gulf Coast Town Center and downtown Fort Myers River District. Less than 13 miles to downtown Fort Myers and 15 miles to the airport, Coastal Key is conveniently located in South Fort Myers at the end of Winkler Road Extension, south of Summerlin Road.
