Cape Coral Yacht Club Is An Original Landmark

The Cape Coral Yacht Club is quite a gem. Built in 1958 and an original landmark of the city, it is still going strong attracting residents to the full range of facilities and amenities, including the public beach, fishing pier and community pool. With outdoor activities year round, Cape Coral Yacht Club is located at the Community Park in southeast Cape Coral directly on the Caloosahatchee River in a beautifully landscaped setting.  The Cape’s only beach is located here. The Yacht Club has its own snack bar, fuel dock, bait shop and The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The extensive menu of fresh seafood, exotic cocktails and unique beers draws both residents and visitors to this newly opened restaurant that is managed by the same group as the popular Ford's Garage family of restaurants. Residents enjoy the Community Park with barbecue grills, bathrooms and a fishing pier. There are plenty of activities from free racquetball courts to shuffleboard courts to horseshoe pits to a public boat ramp. There is a fee-based swimming pool and tennis courts as well as tennis group lessons by Pros. Special events include the monthly “Sunset Celebrations on the Pier,” featuring live music, 40-50 local arts and crafts vendors, and gorgeous sunsets over the water. A ballroom is available that is popular for weddings, private parties and meetings. There is free public parking and public dockage beyond the Boathouse Tiki Bar and Grill. The Yacht Club neighborhood features a mix of vintage 1960s homes and newer upscale luxury homes. Many older homes have been renovated or are teardowns, especially along Bayshore Drive, Coral Drive and Dolphin Drive. New homes can be found on the waterfront streets. Most of this area features direct deep-water sailboat access to the Gulf of Mexico.
