The company’s safe driving rewards program takes in data and promotes that the national average for ‘hard-breaking events’ per every 1,000 miles is 19, with Cape Coral coming in slightly below average, at 18. The report translates into findings that Cape Coral drivers are predicted to be about 18-percent less likely to be involved in a crash than other Americans driving around one of the country’s other 199 largest cities. When further adjusted to take snow and rain into account, the area climbs up to number four on the list, the same spot it held in the 2016 report. Only one other Florida city makes the list of the top 10 for 2017. Drivers in Port Saint Lucie average just 12-years between collisions, making the likelihood of getting into a crash there about 16.7-percent less than the national average. Tallahassee drivers came in at number 17 on the Allstate list this year, while St. Petersburg drivers came in at number 37. At the top of the list for 2017 were drivers in Kansas City, Kansas, followed by those in Brownsville, Texas and Madison, Wisconsin. On the flip side, Boston drivers came in at the bottom of the Allstate list for 2017, projected to average about 3.6 years between collision claims. According to the report, Allstate covers about 10-percent of all US auto policies.
