Brightwater Offers Life in a Lagoon Community
It may not be right on the ocean or even right on a natural lake, but there’s something to be said about living in an innovative lagoon community. That’s just what you’ll find at the new Brightwater community of North Fort Myers.
While the homes and other amenities of Brightwater are certainly impressive, it’s the giant man-made lagoon that gets most of the attention. This six-acre lagoon is a state-of-the-art amenity at Brightwater with room for kayaking, paddleboarding, and even some floating cabanas.
There’s a swim up bar at the lagoon, as well as a floating obstacle course. The man-made lagoon isn’t your typical lake or your typical swimming pool, as this massive water attraction features crystal-clear water and a white sand beach.
It’s actually only the third lagoon of its kind in all of North America. Along with its lagoon, the resort-like community also offers miles of walking and biking trails, some outdoor event space, a shaded tot lot and a dog park.
In addition, the community is known to have an active social calendar for its residents, as it hosts some exclusive, resident-only events, including sports parties, socials, and even an occasional karaoke night. The Brightwater community offers some single-family homes from DR Horton, mostly starting priced in the $400,000s.
Phase one was already sold out this past spring, with plans for phase two coming next. For now, some of the neighborhood is earmarked as future residential, with homesites mapped out for D R Horton, Maronda, and Lennar.
The Shores at Brightwater consists of twin villas and single-family homes from DR Horton’s Freedom Homes company. Residents of this section of Brightwater have their own community amenities, while they can also access the lagoon just across the street. Located in North Fort Myers, Brightwater sits close to 75 and other major roadways.
