Promoted as a better place to live, the new Brightwater development of North Fort Myers certainly offers up plenty of appeal to prospective buyers. Centered around a freshwater lagoon, model homes open this spring in a development that’s projected to someday offer up around 1,300 homes.

It’s the freshwater lagoon, however, that is perhaps the most anticipated part of the entire new community. One of the first such lagoons available anywhere in the United States, the crystal clear lagoon will stretch for six-acres, providing residents with the enjoyment of a coastal lifestyle in an area once primarily regarded as more rural and agricultural.

Priced starting in the mid $200,000s, its expected that around 300 smart homes will go up each year in Brightwater, with well known builders already signed on to nearly that many lots as part of phase one of the development. The new Brightwater community sits about a mile from I-75 and to the north of Bayshore.
