Bowman’s Beach, a secluded Gulf of Mexico beach on Sanibel Island, was named one of the best beaches in the world in list compiled by U.S. News Travel. Bowman’s Beach shared elite company with other world-renowned beautiful beaches like Kauai, Hawaii and the Cayman Islands in the Top 10 category. U.S. Travel said Bowman’s Beach made the list for its shoreline covered with colorful seashells, and its calm ambiance everywhere from shore to Periwinkle Way (Sanibel Island’s main thoroughfare). Readers are encouraged to also visit Sanibel’s sister island, Captiva Island, to see a beautiful sunset. Sanibel residents and visitors enjoy secluded Bowman’s Beach for its low-key and quiet vibe, as well as Periwinkle Way’s art galleries, shabby chic shops and fine restaurants.
