Blackhawk Famous for Rare Birds and Bass

Built alongside a natural preserve and three large lakes, the Blackhawk community is famous for attracting rare birds and bass. While the homes are all relatively unique in Blackhawk, it’s the setting that makes this South Fort Myers neighborhood truly special.

Each homesite in Blackhawk is at least one-acre in size, providing homeowners with views overlooking one of the bass-filled lakes or the lush surrounding preserves, which are known to attract native and migratory birds. This established neighborhood may be close enough to what you want and need in this part of Fort Myers, but it’s also somewhat secluded and private.

It’s the combination of convenience and natural beauty that often attracts new homebuyers to Blackhawk. The community consists of less than 80 single-family estate homes, all of which were constructed by Arthur Rutenberg Homes between the late 1990s to late 2000s. The custom homes of Blackhawk typically include at least 2,600 square feet of living space, although some of the largest homes in the community sometimes exceed 4,600 square feet of space.

You won’t find traditional cookie-cutter homes in Blackhawk, as many of the home designs were built to appeal to buyers who wanted a home to fit their individual needs and preferences. Some of the homes recently listed on the market in the gated community have offered four-bedrooms and at least three-baths, as well as a three-car garage.

You may find a home with its own resort-style swimming pool and spa, as well as a home that’s been newly updated with fresh paint, upgraded countertops, and other desirable features and finishes. Located close to Six Mile Cypress Parkway and Briarcliff Road in the city’s popular Daniels Corridor, living in Blackhawk means living close to area shops and restaurants, as well as Gulf beaches.
