Best Places to Propose in Fort Myers Area

According to statistics, we’re right in the middle of one of the most romantic times of the year, especially for proposals. If you’re looking for the perfect place to pop the question in and around Fort Myers, we have several great options to consider.

Exploring Nature

Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve isn’t just a place to take in nature, it’s also a great spot for a proposal. The boardwalk trail is often traveled for birding, but it can be a great place to go for a stroll before you propose, too.

If you want to add a little local history into the mix, you could take a boat ride to Mound Key Archaeological State Park and time your proposal to be surrounded by some of the historic shell mounds.

At the Beach

You could also head to the beach. Barefoot Beach Preserve is somewhat secluded, making it a great spot for a proposal that probably won’t be overrun with large crowds. If you time it right, you may even get to take in a sunset while you’re there.

While it will likely be more crowded, the appropriately named Lovers Key State Park is also a good spot. Some have also been known to choose Lovers Key for a beachside wedding.

Over dinner

If you’re the more traditional type, you could also ask your significant other for their hand in marriage over a candlelight dinner. The Veranda in Downtown Fort Myers is quiet and romantic enough for an indoor proposal. This fine dining establishment can even host your future nuptials.

If you’d like a more vibrant location, you can always head to one of the other dining spots in this part of Fort Myers and pop the question over a glass of wine or while sampling the cocktails at a local raw bar.
