Bay Oaks Recreation Center on Fort Myers Beach

bay_oaks Any Fort Myers Beach resident can now get a free Bay Oaks Annual Membership to its recreational facility.  The fee previously had been $25 for an annual membership but the City Council voted unanimously that, as of January 1, every resident is a member.  Members of Bay Oaks Recreation Center can use all of the facilities at no cost and discounts are offered on all fee-based activities. Bay Oaks has a renovated fitness room, featuring treadmills, elliptical, stationary bikes, weights, boxing bag, and more.  Besides the fitness room, members can participate in drop-in sports, like basketball, volleyball, Pickle ball, senior softball and bocce ball.  In addition, there are a dozen fitness classes offered throughout the week, such as abs toner, aerobics, body pump, spinning, and yoga.  There is also a group called Bay Oaks Social Seniors that provides social, recreational and educational activities for members over age 50, like kayaking, potlucks, guest speakers, line dance, Zumba, yoga, museum outings, bowling and concerts. Located at 2731 Oak Road in Fort Myers Beach on Estero Island, this community-based recreation center is used by children, teens, and adults.  There’s something for every member of the family!  Bay Oaks features a climate-controlled gym, 4 outdoor tennis courts, basketball court, 2 athletic fields, a picnic area and playground.
