Babcock Ranch Has Momentum

One of Southwest Florida’s most talked about new communities certainly has momentum. New home construction is running at full speed in Babcock Ranch, where new residents are moving in just as fast as homebuilders can complete the new homes.
Already builders in the world’s first solar-powered town have sold 250 homes. That’s another major milestone for the unique town and community going up near Fort Myers.
Babcock Ranch presents the option of choosing from one of community’s select builders, with dozens of different floor plans available. This includes everything from cottages and twin villas to townhomes, single-family and even custom homes.
Appealing to a large variety of buyers, it’s possible to find a single or two-story home in the community, with two- to six-bedrooms. Starting at around 1,400 square feet in size, it’s also possible to find a home in Babcock Ranch with nearly 5,000 square feet of space.
Some of the master-planned community’s most affordable homes are the ones selling the fastest. While several homebuilders are constructing in Babcock Ranch, the largest number of homes right now come from Pulte and Lennar.
The homes from Pulte start priced in the low $200,000s. A majority of those buyers tend to be families, and the rest are made up of retirees.
In comparison, Lennar has already sold well more than 100 homes itself in Babcock Ranch, priced from the high $100,000s to the high $300,000s. The Lennar homes come in 14 different floor plans, and fit in with the area’s emphasis on a sustainable lifestyle.
In particular, build-out for phase one of the Trail’s Edge neighborhood is expected to come late this year, with phase two expected to be finished in another couple of years. Another new community headed to the area, meanwhile, is Babcock National, with 20 home designs and views of the golf course.
