Fort Myers high-rise Foreclosures
Many of the Fort Myers high-rise projects arrived on the scene just as the real estate bubble was bursting in Southwest Florida. This timing issue, coupled with a heavy participation by investors rather than end-users, has caused a fair number to become distressed assets.
The majority of the Fort Myers high-rise development occurred in the downtown area along the Caloosahatchee River. This area has been re-named the Fort Myers River District with the hope of creating an urban oasis in Southwest Florida. Unfortunately, many of these high-rise condos remain empty and are going through the foreclosure process. At the present time, savvy buyers can enter the Fort Myers high-rise scene at a significant discount to the original prices that these condos were delivered for.
Both short sale and foreclosures are currently available in the inventory of Fort Myers high-rises. We have worked with buyers in both of these asset categories and have experienced much higher closing success ratios with foreclosure listings.
